In the time it takes me to drive to work, our president has spent 100 times this much. (via maxvoluntarist)
Under Barack Obama’s leadership, government spending has actually slowed.

Boom roasted. Christ I hate it when people refuse to understand that Obama is not on some kind of government spending spree. Seriously, where are these notions coming from?

Russia’s chief arms exporter said weapons systems could be used against any nation trying to halt Syria’s violence.
A looming proxy war that easily could escalate into full on war. Great!
If Obama’s evolved on gay rights, Romney’s devolved.
Oh that Mew and its deevolution beam.

- “Instead of leaving an abusive situation, women should try to remember the things they love about their husbands, Representative Don Pridemore said. “If they can re-find those reasons and get back to why they got married in the first place it might help,” he told a local news station.”
- “According to Yahoo, “while [Pridemore] thinks women are capable of caring for a family “in certain situations,” fathers are the only ones who provide structure and discipline. If they don’t grow up with married biological parents, Pridemore says, “kids tend to go astray.”“
I just… I have no words. I’m so upset.
On behalf of sane Wisconsin, I… I apologize.
This is just sick. As is the other bill he tried to pass.

So… what they’re saying is that the executive branch has now become judge, jury, and executioner.
A fun visual representation of how unbelievably pointless and wasteful Florida’s drug testing law is. Not pictured: the fact that that $178 million dollars went to a company owned by the governor’s wife.

This was a shameless leeching of government funds. So much for small government..
So this is pretty effing awesome, if it succeeds in stopping the fighting along the border. Next they’re going to be talking about oil, though - and seriously no clue on how that’s going to go.
I mean, 98% of the South Sudanese government budget comes from oil, and those same South Sudanese oil revenues used to make up over a third of the Sudanese government budget, so this is a really high-stakes negotiation for both governments. This article suggests that the Sudanese government can recoup some of the hit to its budget through transit fees (South Sudan is landlocked and the only pipelines to shipping terminals run through Sudan) but this might not be sufficient in the long run since South Sudan is also considering a new pipeline to a terminal in northern Kenya.
WARNING: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC: Syrian boy with his jaw blown off
Few videos could highlight the tenuous situation in Syria as one published Sunday afternoon showing a boy with his jaw completely blown off.
The video also contains other children with their limbs removed during Syrian President Bashar Assad’s violent crackdown on dissent.
The condition of the boy is unclear at the time of this post.

This is what Russia and China vetoed. This is what the world is staying silent over.
This is people’s reality. Just because big media isn’t telling you about it, does not mean it didn’t happen. Reblogging because everyone needs to know these atrocities are happening.
These people are casualties of a senseless battle for power. UN intervention is not wanted, but needed.
Because with unemployment in Washington state at only 8.7%, Republican lawmakers have nothing better to do with their time.

I like how the GOP preaches that democrats want to keep people poor and uneducated, when in fact, such conditions benefit republicans a great deal. (And that such statements are outright lies.) It’s such a spiraling win for them!
